What we collect and why
When you subscribe, we keep your email address, optional first name, chosen reading guide, email preferences, and a record of your signup and confirmation. We use these to deliver your guide and send BiblioGlobe newsletters at your chosen frequency. Our basis for sending newsletters is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
When you vote for a destination, we keep your email address, destination choice, any region or period you enter, and your confirmation record. We use these to verify and count your vote and notify you when the journey is published. Voting alone does not subscribe you to newsletters. Choosing to subscribe and receive a guide does.
We also keep information needed to manage email delivery, preferences and unsubscribes. If you contact us, we use your message and contact details to respond. We process these service requests to provide what you ask for, and use limited security records to protect the site and prevent abuse, based on our legitimate interest in operating a safe, reliable service.
Who can use your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information, or provide our mailing list to other organisations for their own marketing. Trusted service providers process information on our behalf to host the website, store records and deliver emails. We may also disclose information when required by law.
Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers must be covered by recognised safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. You can contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your data.
Traffic analytics and cookies
We use basic traffic analytics to understand visits, popular pages and website performance. This analytics service does not use cookies or browser storage, or fingerprint visitors for its reports.
The site uses a necessary cookie to give you access to your email preferences without a password. Our hosting service may also use cookies for access control and security. We do not use advertising cookies.
Our email service may record delivery information and, depending on its settings, email opens or link clicks. Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy policies.
How long we keep information
We keep subscriber information while your subscription is active. After you unsubscribe, we retain only what is needed to honour that choice, demonstrate consent where necessary, and meet legal obligations. Voting records are kept for destination planning and the notification you requested. Temporary confirmation links expire after 24 hours.
Unsubscribing stops newsletters; it is separate from asking us to delete your information. Contact us if you want your personal records deleted.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe or change your email frequency using the links in our subscriber emails. You can also ask to access, correct or delete your information, request a portable copy, restrict its use, or object to processing where applicable. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.
Send requests to hello@biblioglobe.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

We will update this page if our practices change and show the latest revision date above.
