The Colossus of Maroussi
Henry Miller arrived in Greece in 1939 expecting a journey and found something closer to revelation. He travels through Athens, Crete, Corfu and the Peloponnese, but geography quickly gives way to people, conversation, landscape and the sheer pleasure of being somewhere that seems to him more alive than the Europe he has left behind.
